Small University Town in Nova Scotia, is Home to #3 on the Forgotten 50 List

Saint Francis Xavier University is a renowned Catholic University that began in the small town of Antigonish, Nova Scotia in 1853. Today, nearly 5000 students study here, roughly the same size as the town for a total population of close to 10,000 people. This is a quintessential Canadian university town, a few hours drive from Halifax and a short 15 minute drive from Nova Scotia’s breathtaking coastline.

And like some many towns, big and small, across Canada, this town and it’s university need Jesus!

Watch this Youtube video to learn more about the town….

For many of us in Canada, this campus has not been on our radar. Although it consistently ranks as one of Canada’s best undergraduate institutions, it’s not located in the big city, and consequently has not been the focus for most of the larger campus ministries that exisit across the nation, like Power to Change Students (CRU), and InterVarsity. And because of it’s Catholic heritage, Saint Francis Xavier University, has not seen many evangelicals start churches in the area.

And so we are asking… Please PRAY FOR THIS TOWN AND Saint Francis Xavier University. Let’s take this one off the list!!

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”

And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” Isaiah 6:8 NIV
