The Forgotten50 is a movement focused on reaching the fifty college and university campuses in North America with the least access to the Gospel.

FORGOTTEN

We call them “forgotten” because they have gone unnoticed or ignored by parachurch campus ministries, denominational campus ministries, established churches, and church plants alike.  While collegiate ministries of all sorts continually expand to take the gospel to new campuses, these campuses continue to slip through the cracks.  Every single college and university campus in North America need more gospel engagement, but many of those campuses enjoy a dozen or more ministries positioned to take the gospel to them.  The campuses on the Forgotten50, however, have little or no access to the gospel.  The Forgotten50 Movement seeks to change that fact.

50

The movement focuses on fifty because we want to start with the campuses with the least access to the gospel.  If it were hundreds of campuses, it would be hard to know where to start.  If it were five campuses, a single organization could get it done.  We have focused on the number “fifty” because it is manageable, yet it requires parachurch campus ministries, denominational campus ministries, established churches, and church plants to work together.  No one can do it alone.  This is a God-sized vision that is about the Kingdom!

WHAT IT’S NOT

  • A list of the worst colleges/universities in North America. The Forgotten50 has nothing to do with educational value, quality of education, or anything of the sort.  It is solely concerned with gospel accessibility.

  • A list of the most influential campuses in North America. Considering most people have never even heard of the majority of the institutions on this list, it’s easy to see that the Forgotten50 gives no attention to influence or prestige. Again, it is solely concerned with gospel accessibility.

  • A list of the most dangerous campuses in North America. Crime rates, emergency response services, nor any related statistics had any bearing on this research. Again, the Forgotten50 is solely concerned with gospel accessibility
